Reel Therapy Crew Captains Captain Gene Smith is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain with over 25 years' of Virgin Island fishing and boating experience. He was raised on St. Thomas, USVI, and knows the waters and islands like the back of his hand. He truly enjoys sharing his local knowledge of these island treasures, his fishing tips and enthusiasm for ocean life. Captain Smitty runs a tight but fun ship. His attention to detail will make you feel secure and his relaxed personality will put you on island time. He is an accomplished fishing guide and a great instructor for new anglers or those wishing to hone skills. Captain Paul Salazar... U.S. Coat Guard licensed captain with over 17 years of local fishing experience. Capt. Paul was first mate for Capt. Bill McCaully on Prowler Sportfishing when Capt. Bill was awarded top captain by the Billfish Foundation for most tagged and released billfish for a few years in row during the mid to late 90's. He brings his marlin and overall extensive local fishing experience to Reel Therapy.
Snorkeling and Island Tour First Mate Jill Mara has a love of the sea and sharing the joys of boating and coral reef discoveries. Every trip on these warm Caribbean waters is a new learning experience and she will gladly relay her expanding knowledge of sea life and interest in conservation with you. She came to the Virgin Islands a few years ago after living in Cape Cod, MA for six years filming whale behaviors. When not on the water, she runs her own sailing charter brokerage, In The Wild Adventures. Jill is CPR/First Aid and STCW Certified for chartering in international waters.
